Here are three versions for posters I designed as a pro bono effort for the Margaret Zach International Library of Women Composers which organizes the annual International Festival of Women Composers. This is the 20th anniversary, so we played up that number in the poster, and given the emphasis on women we used purple for the initial draft. As an alternative we borrowed colors from the Valois tapestry (lower left corner), which the festival’s founder and creative director Dr. Miriam Zach wanted to include, since some of the music references the Medici Court. Draft No. 3 is a variation on No. 2. The bird in the ‘0/female’ sign comes directly from the Woodstock poster, in commemoration of the power of music to bring people together.
