We were tasked by Culicidae Press and its imprints to design a New Year’s letter showing of the company’s work during 2025. Overall there were twenty-eight books. Since full covers (verso, spine, and recto) consist of horizontal images, we decided on a 3-column layout on an 8.5 x 11 paper size. This yielded thirteen covers for the first page of the handout and fifteen covers for the second page.
Three of the publications were released as a series of theater plays, so we made sure they were lined up across one row. Other covers were positioned based on overall perception of color (browns, blacks) or contrast between predominantly white covers and darker hues, as well as text-dense designs versus more sparse layouts.
