We were tasked with designing a logo for the newly established Musca Press, an imprint of Culicidae Press. Since ‘musca’ means fly in Latin, our first move was to consider wings of flies that might be incorporated into the design (see samples below). The we worked on the typography, considering the fonts for the mother press logo (Garamond), and how the wings might interact with the major letter (M) of Musca Press.
