polytekton Wins Best Book Design for Art Book

award announcementWe just won best-book design in the Art category of the 2020 Best Book Awards for our design of C. Curry Bohm: Brown Country and Beyond, edited by Daniel Kraft & Jim Ross, published by the Brauer Museum of Art at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana.

This is not our first contribution for the Brauer Museum. We have done three other designs of exhibition catalogues for Gregg Hertzlieb, the director and curator of the Brauer Museum of Art. You may have come across them online or during your visits to the Valparaiso campus. Our first design was the book of photography by David Robert Austen titled Being Austrailian Under A Southern Sun from 2018, C. Curry Bohm: Brown County and Beyond and Spectral Speculations from 2019, and most recently American Art at the Brauer Museum of Art, a collection of the superb paintings and sculptures held in the museum.

Below are samples of the book’s final interior layouts. Please click on each image to see a larger version.
